Two of the events were World Ranking Events. Main organiser Sami Hyvönen had put together the five competitions where Finnish course setters each planned one course. The course planners were Juha Hiirsalmi, Pekka Seppä, Petteri Hakala, Pinja Mäkinen and Hannu Niemi. Second in the overall competition was Lars Jakob Waaler from Norway. Geir Myhr Øien, also from Norway, finished third. Four competitions of the five were counted in the overall results. There were overall around 90 competitors from Finland, Sweden, Norway, Great Britain, Italy, Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Russia, Japan and Hong Kong. Also a lot of first-timers came to test trail orienteering as the competitions were held close to the FIN 5 foot orienteering competitions.
