This year FinTrailO came back to it's roots to Jyväskylä where the tradition started in 2009. Compared to the first FinTrailO the number of competitors had increased and the weather was 15 degrees warmer. Totally 70 competitors took part to FinTrailO in a sunny summer weather. The Saturday's tempo and preo competitions where organized in urban surroundings and Sunday's competition was in a forest terrain with large bouders and rockfaces. Marit Wiksell from Sweden won again the FinTrailO total competition. She was the best also in 2014 and 2015. Martin Jullum was leading after Saturdays two competitions but on Sunday he made one mistake that dropped him to the second place overall. Pinja Mäkinen was third in front of Marko Määttälä. In an interview given on Saturday night Martin Jullum still remembered FinTrailO 2012 when he was leading FinTrailO after two competitions. That time he made in the last competition "about ten" mistakes that dropped him far from the podium. This time he made a good competition on Sunday but even one mistake was too much against the Swedish Super Star Marit Wiksell. Marit Wiksell said she enjoyed the courses and that it was cool to win FinTrailO the third time in a row. Next year FinTrailO will be organized in Espoo 29.-30.4.2017. |
